2016-17

Technological Environment

Thiagarajar College of Preceptors possess excellent technological environment. All the classrooms are with LCD projectors, Smart classroom with interactive white board, Videoconference are the facilities provided to enhance the usage of technology in classroom transaction. We give training to students to teach with Smartboard. The staff and students have free access to Internet provided in the Computer Science Lab, Library, Staff Room and in Career Counselling Cell. Our College library is fully equipped with Inflibnet, Delnet facilities. Thus, the college makes everyone to adapt in the technological environment.

2017-18

Association and Club Activities

Though our college provides outstanding academic activities, we also lay emphasis on enormous association and club activities such as Tamil Association, English Association, Mathematics Association, Science Association, History Association, Commerce Association, Career and Counselling Cell, Women Development Cell, Cultural Cell, Eco Club, Consumer Awareness Cell, Human Right Cell, Youth Red Cross, Red Ribbon Club, Parent Teachers Association, Grandpa Grandma Committee, Film Club, Placement Cell, Readers Club, Sports Club, Alumni Association, Counselling Cell and Internal Quality Assurance Cell. Each club members participate in decisions related to the policies and activities of the club. Members have opportunities to participate in meaningful community service activities and to identify and learn about community issues they care about in the club. Members develop leadership skills in the club. All the students actively engage in their club activities.This way college is distinct from other aspects of curricular activities.

2018-19

Grandpa and Grandma Day

Our college always teach the students to respect the elders. In order to respect and honor the grandparents of the students, we celebrate the grandparents day every year. Usually student teachers invite their grandparents to our college on grandparent’s day function. They mutually share their experiences by expressing their love and affection. Fun games are also arranged for grandparents. Students and grandparents really feel good to celebrate the grandparent's day.

2019-20

Research during school internship programme

At B.Ed level there is no research as per university curriculum. But our college focuses on research during the school internship programme.. Students do their descriptive research at their school itself. Our faculty members orient studentson how to conduct research. So the student's research ability is developed during their B.Ed. level itself. Definitely, it will be useful for their higher studies . Students are encouraged to publish their research article in the journals. Students publish their research article in our College E-Journal Edu-Spectra. Thus, the institution works for the enhancement of research ability of the students.

2020-21

Value Added Courses

The institution is distinct in providing Value-added courses apart from academic curriculum. The value-added course aims to provide learner centric skill oriented technical training, with the primary objective of improving the employability skills of students. It is important for higher education institutions to supplement the curriculum to make the students better prepared to meet industry demands as well as develop their own interests and aptitudes. So, the academic committee of the college has initiated value-added courses for the welfare of the students.The five valued added coursesinclude lectures by power point presentation and hands-on training to the students with 30 hours of duration.Topics covered in this value-added course are useful in their academic curriculum also. The college provides certificates to the students on successful completion of the courses. The following value-added courses are offered in this academic year.

2021-22

Library Website and Institutional Digital Depository

TCP library has a dedicated weblink to provide information access for available resources to its use community. List of resources and circulation policies are updated on the website for creating user awareness. Digital repository was created for IQAC publications and uploaded them in regular intervals as published. Faculty e-contents are collected and distributed through the library website for easy access. Faculties’ course materials are collected by the library staff and uploaded them on the college slideshare account. So that students can access them at any point of time. Library annual reports are also uploaded and linked to the library website.
